Spend a few minutes making your own spiced walnuts and impress your guests!
Makes 2 small bowls
Ingredients
115g (4 oz) granulated sugar
4 tbsp water
Zest of ½ orange
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
175g (6 oz) walnut halves
Method
Place the sugar, water, orange zest and spices into the large AGA cast aluminium frying pan. Stir together and then add the walnuts. Cook over a moderate heat, stirring occasionally for about 7 minutes, until the liquid has evaporated and the walnuts have absorbed the flavours. Transfer to a piece of Bake-O-Glide and allow to go completely cold before serving.
Notes
Rayburn cooking: Cook on the hotplate. Conventional cooking: Cook on the hob.
